The Arthur’s Seat Eagle is a state-of-the-art gondola ride located on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. It takes visitors on a scenic journey over the beautiful landscapes of Arthur’s Seat State Park, offering stunning views of the ocean, bay, and surrounding countryside.

The Arthurs Seat Eagle has two stations and you can begin your journey at either one. The Summit Station is located at 1085 Arthurs Seat Road, Dromana. The Summit Station is located at 795 Arthurs Seat Road, Arthurs Seat. The Eagle is approximately a one hour drive from Melbourne CBD.

The operating hours vary depending on the season. Generally, Arthur’s Seat Eagle is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, we recommend here for the most up-to-date information on operating hours.

The Eagle is open every day except for Christmas day, however we are occasionally forced to close for maintenance or inclement weather. Check the latest closures here

A combination of enclosed and open cabins provide an all-weather experience, ensuring passengers travel in comfort, no matter the weather conditions! The Eagle may close if wind levels reach extremely high levels or if there is lightening in the area. Check the latest closures here

No. Pre-purchased tickets are available online here and attract a discount, however you are always welcome to purchase your tickets on they day at the ticket booth.
No, all tickets are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and can be used on any day that we are open.

A one way ticket will take you from the Base Station to the Summit Station OR from the Summit Station to the Base Station. This ticket type is suitable for people who are being picked up from the other station or who plan to walk the whole way back – be prepared for a LONG walk!

A return ticket will take you from the Base Station to the Summit Station and back again OR from the Summit Station to the Base Station and back again. This ticket type is suitable for anyone who has driven to the Eagle in their own vehicle.

The duration of a gondola ride may vary depending on its operating speed, which can be influenced by weather conditions or other factors.  On average, a gondola ride takes approximately 15 minutes one way. A return trip takes around 30 minutes. You can choose to stay at the summit or base station for as long as you like before taking the return journey.

Each gondola can comfortably accommodate up to 8 passengers, making it perfect for families and small groups. Each gondola is licenced to carry 8 passengers – so groups of 9 or more will be split across multiple gondolas. Babies in carriers are included in the group headcount.
No, the Eagle guarantees you your own gondola, whether your group is a group of 8 or a group of 1!

Yes, Arthurs Seat Eagle is fully accessible for wheelchairs and prams. The gondolas are designed to accommodate wheelchairs, and staff are trained to assist with boarding and alighting. Please notify the team at the time of booking if you require special assistance.  See here for more information.

Arthurs Seat Eagle offers discounts for children, families, seniors, and groups. For group bookings of 15 or more people, special rates are available. Please look here  for more details on group bookings and discounts.

Join us for lunch or grab a snack at the Eagle Cafe located at the Summit Station. Delicious food is our specialty with pies, salads, sandwiches and wraps and a decadent range of ice creams and sweet treats for the whole family. A range of healthy and hearty food options are available, as well as some fantastic gluten free and vegetarian options. There are also cold drinks, snacks and ice creams available at the Base Station.

Yes – actually we encourage it! There’s nothing nicer than enjoying lunch or a snack with a view from the comfort of our gondolas! Why not choose something delicious from our Eagle Cafe and snack and soar?

No, as we are located within the State Park, only assistance animals are permitted.
The gondolas are stored in the hangar at the Base Station at night. If you come an hour or so before we open, or stay half an hour after we close you might see us ‘racking’ the gondolas on and off the line!

The mob of kangaroos that live in the vicinity of the Eagle are wild and wander freely over the top of the mountain. During the morning they can often be see grazing underneath the line as you soar overhead on the Eagle. During other times of day you’re most likely to spot one in a shady spot at Seawinds Gardens.

There is a longstanding tradition of taking photos sitting on the Arthurs Seat Seat. You’ll find the current Seat at the Summit Station – just follow the path past the Eagle statue to find it.

BBQs are provided by Parks Victoria and are free of charge. They can’t be booked and are available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
