We pride ourselves on our efforts towards becoming more sustainable.

Power Efficient Design

Our gondolas were built by Austrian manufacturer Dopplemayer, famous for not only their impeccable safety record but also for their approach to responsible development.

Our gondola system is has a diesel hydraulic drive and independent self-contained generator. We are able to set constant speeds for operation allowing us to maximise our power efficiency and minimise our impact.

Noise Reduction

Acoustically, the Doppelmayr gondola is superior to other products for its incredibly quiet operating system, so you can be immersed in nature as you glide silently through the trees!

Sustainable Operations

We filter and recycle the oil in our gearboxes and hydraulic systems to reduce waste - with mechanisms as huge as ours, this has a huge impact!

We use solar cells to charge the batteries for the radios and emergency lights in our gondolas - you can see them on the roof of each gondola, generating power as you soar through the air!

Minimising Environmental Impact

We support community emergency planning by maintaining a firebreak down the mountain. Green waste removed from firebreak areas is mulched and deposited on our garden beds to save water!

Have you noticed our bins at both Summit and Base Stations? They are the only bins provided in the State Park - please ensure you place your litter in the bins provided to prevent litter finding its way throughout the State Park.

And don’t forget to use our dedicated recycling bins where possible!

Koala Care

What are all those green things you soar over down the mountain? We partner with Mornington Peninsula Koala Conservation to plant koala habitat down the lift line. Keep your eyes out for our sleepy friends as you travel through the State Park.

We Support Local

Have you noticed that everything at the Eagle feels a bit… local? It’s because it is!

We employ locally where possible, and we love showcasing the best produce and artisan products in our retail stores. Our cafe suppliers are overwhelmingly local and we love to support local charities, non-profits and community groups.
