Education Excursions
The Arthurs Seat Eagle offers a unique, multi-site environment where teachers and students are invited to immerse themselves in place-based learning. Our unique location enables us to provide meaningful learning experiences connecting students through history to place. Our program is designed to help primary school students of all ages engage with the beauty and diversity of the area while fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of core curriculum skills.
Our memorable excursions encompass the Geography, Science and History subject areas of the Victorian Curriculum.
The Program
Each Eagle Education Program is divided up by grade to correspond with National Curriculum divisions, and each lesson is specifically targeted to cater to curriculum descriptors in the areas of Geography, History and Science.
The Package
Our Education Packages cost $15 per student, with accompanying teachers and supervising adults attending free of charge.

The Excursion
The excursion runs as a half day excursion as follows:

Arrive by bus at the Summit Station | ||
Eagle Educator-Led Session | Greeting and Introduction by Eagle Educator. We set the scene for the excursion and learn what to look out for on our first flight. | 15 minutes |
Teacher/Supervising Adult Led Session | 1st Ride – Ride from Summit to Base. Teachers and supervising adults are provided with sheet of guided discussion points for students. Children may see our own Wedgie the Eagle riding past on a gondola – don’t forget to wave! Ratios in our gondolas are 1-7. | 15 minutes |

Eagle Educator Led-Session | Students are treated to a guided tour of the Base Station – the driving force of the cable way system. Our audiovisual presentation, activities and discussion all take place within the hangar where the gondolas are ‘put to bed’ each night. Our immersive audiovisual presentation takes students on a journey from the earliest history of the mountain, through today. Our engaging educator will guide students to find all the clues they need to complete their research booklets, before we roll up our sleeves for a hands-on activity. | 45 minutes |
